Rad and Sad Art is a one-woman production that started in 2021 after rediscovering myself as an artist. I used this brand to launch myself into the art world, where I wanted to find belonging. In 2024, I feel more at home than ever. I am working to blur the lines between craft and fine art and moving toward viewing my lack of traditional Art School training as a gift, a pass to create unique, no-rules ceramic artwork. The kind that surprises people.

I want you to know that I am paying attention. My art is a declaration that I am steadfast in my desire to be tuned in to the world around me. My love for a lively and exaggerated story, nostalgia, humor, and self-acceptance influence my designs. I want my work to find value through its relationship with humans and the stories it gives back to us.

I make everyday pieces, mugs, vases, pipes, and bowls because I connect with the usefulness and sacrifice of a functional vessel. As a mother, daughter, partner, and friend, I find myself holding things for folks. An imperfect, carefully constructed vessel, open and willing.

I create whimsical and humorous sculptures that act as ambassadors, playfully shedding light on the vital work of conservation and the wisdom inherent in the animal kingdom. Steve Irwin, a bright light and profound influence, knew the magic of the wild, and spirit lives on in my art.

Nice to meet you.
